The recent Prince Andrew arrest has brought with it many questions. There’s what’s next for the former prince, how his daughters are reacting to this latest scandal, and where his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, is. The entire family is under a microscope these days, and it’s easy to see why.

For the royal family, containing the scandal means keeping Andrew on an isolated property in the Sandringham estate and limiting his visitors. But does that mean he hasn’t seen his daughters? What about Sarah Ferguson? Are they in contact? Does Andrew know where she is?

All we know is she’s not with Andrew, at least not full-time. In fact, according to RadarOnline, the disgraced former royal’s companions are seven canine “guests,” and he has been banned from adding one more animal to the list: a cat. One insider told the outlet, “Andrew has effectively surrounded himself with what you might call his seven ‘guests’ – dogs that have become a constant presence in his day-to-day life, and, given how isolated he now is, they’ve taken on a much greater emotional significance as companions.”

But there are rules. “But even within that, there are firm boundaries he can’t cross. The Sandringham estate operates under strict rules, and one of the clearest is the outright ban on cats.” Yes, that’s right. No cats. “No matter what Andrew might prefer personally, that’s simply not negotiable – it’s a reminder that his living situation is now tightly controlled in a way it never was before.”

The restrictions are not unique to Andrew and are instead part of a long-standing policy on the Sandringham estate. The prohibition has to do with safeguarding the local bird population. Dogs are allowed, but under controlled conditions. Andrew has seven, including the Queen’s two corgis that were left in his care.

“Even in what many would describe as a form of exile, Andrew is still operating within a very defined set of constraints, and those rules are being enforced without exception,” the source said. “The ‘no cats’ policy might seem like a minor point on the surface, but it’s absolutely fixed – there’s no flexibility there at all.”

These reports come after Closer Magazine claimed that Sarah Ferguson has been sneaking into Andrew’s temporary residence. The magazine reports she has been “smuggled in and out in a removal van” to visit Andrew. Outside of these reports, there has been no sighting of Fergie at Andrew’s new home, and his daughters have not gone to visit him either.

Closer also claimed that the royal family, particularly Kate and William, were none too pleased to hear about the lengths Andrew and Fergie have gone to see each other. “William and Kate were absolutely furious when they found out. This wasn’t just discreet, it was covert. That’s what has really rattled William and Kate. They are livid because they feel like they’ve been trying to draw a clear line under this situation, and yet things like this are still happening behind their backs,” the magazine reported.
